Hive Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
- Hive has no account, no sign-in and no in-app purchases.
- Your scores, progress and settings stay on your device. We never receive them.
- Ads only play when you tap a button to get a reward. Google AdMob, our ad provider, collects some device data to show and measure those ads.
- In the EU, UK and Switzerland you choose whether ads can be personalized, and you can change that choice at any time in Settings → Ad choices.
1. Who we are
Hive is a game in the SHAPES series, published by Wisepear – Laboratório Tecnológico, Unipessoal, Lda (“Wisepear”, “we”), Rua Inácio Perestrelo, 32 2º, 4990-120 Ponte de Lima, Portugal. Wisepear is the data controller for the processing described in this policy, except where Google acts as an independent controller (see section 3).

2. Data stored on your device
Hive saves the following on your device only, so you can pick up where you left off:
- your statistics (best score, number of runs, play time, records) and the achievements you have unlocked;
- your Soul progression (level, experience, Soul Tree) and your Daily Run streak;
- a run in progress, so you can resume it if the app is closed;
- your settings (theme, sound, vibrations, reminders, accessibility) and which in-game tips you have already seen;
- the number of games you have finished, so that no reward offer appears during your very first game, and whether you already used today’s extra Daily Run attempt.
This data is not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Hive is free. Its only income comes from optional rewarded ads: a video plays only when you tap a button such as “Continue”, “One more try” or “Head start”, and you get the reward when it ends. No ad ever plays on its own.
The ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited in the EEA and Switzerland, Google LLC elsewhere). When the app starts and when it loads or shows an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects:
| Data | Examples |
|---|---|
| Device identifiers | Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking; advertising ID on Android), app set ID, app-scoped identifiers |
| Approximate location | Estimated from your IP address |
| Ad and app interactions | Ads you have seen, video views, taps, app launches |
| Diagnostics | Crash logs, app launch time, hang rate, energy usage |
Google uses this data to show ads, to measure them, to prevent fraud and, if you agree, to personalize them. Google processes it under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy, and explains how it uses data from partner apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices
- EU, UK and Switzerland: on first launch, a consent form (Google’s certified consent platform) asks whether Google and its ad partners may store and access information on your device and personalize ads. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw or change it at any time in Settings → Ad choices. If you refuse, you can still play everything and still watch ads for rewards; the ads are then non-personalized or limited.
- iOS: after your first game, Hive asks once whether it may track you across apps (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, Google cannot access your advertising identifier (IDFA). You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads, depending on the device).
Refusing consent or tracking never changes the game, the rewards or the offers.
4. No other network use
Hive’s fonts and sounds are built into the app. Apart from the ads described above, the game makes no network connection and works offline.
If you turn on a Daily Run reminder in Settings, it is scheduled by your phone itself as a local notification. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and you can turn it off at any time.
When you share your score or export your data (Settings › Export my data), the image or file goes through your phone’s share sheet to the app you choose. Nothing is sent to us.
5. Messages you send us
Settings › Report a problem prepares an email in your phone’s mail app. Nothing leaves your phone until you send it yourself. If you do, we receive your email address, your message, and the technical details shown before sending: app version, operating system and version, language, screen size, number of runs and Soul level.
We use them only to answer you and to fix the problem, because you asked us to (GDPR, Article 6(1)(b)). We keep them as long as needed to handle your request and its follow-up, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
6. Children
Hive is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used Hive and want the related advertising data handled, contact us and we will help you reach Google.
7. International transfers
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and also relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
8. Retention
Game data stays on your device until you delete the app. Messages you send us are kept as described in section 5. Google keeps advertising data for the periods set out in its privacy policy.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Because Hive has no account and we do not receive your game data, most requests about advertising data are best handled through Google’s tools or by contacting Google. We will answer any request sent to us and help you with it.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt), or with the authority of the country where you live.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
